Lynn Mueller

 Executive Director

SHARC Energy

Clean50 Lifetime Achievement Honouree

“As Executive Director of SHARC Energy and a Clean50 Lifetime Achievement Honouree, I am proud to endorse the bold and visionary work of Group One West. Their plan to develop an energy-positive, carbon-negative eco-resort—integrated with a not-for-profit climate research institute—embodies the systems-level innovation our world urgently needs.

For over a decade, SHARC has proven the power of a wastewater energy recovery to reduce emissions in high-performance buildings and energy districts around the globe. Group One West’s commitment to incorporating wastewater heat recovery—alongside solar, wind, geothermal, and wave energy—within a micro-grid model reflects both technical expertise and climate leadership.

What resonates most with me is their dedication to Indigenous partnership, local stewardship, and experiential education—values that deeply align with my own mission to leave behind a more liveable planet for my four children and three granddaughters.

I believe the Group One West Resort and Climate Institute will stand as a global benchmark for regenerative hospitality and climate-forward infrastructure. I wholeheartedly support this ground-breaking project.”

Dr. Linda Armano, Ph.D.

Research Grant Holder & Scientific Director of Secondary Extraction Association

Ca’ Foscari University of Venice

I am an anthropologist and research fellow at Ca' Foscari University in Venice. I won the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Global Fellowship funded by the European Union, was a visiting scholar at the University of British Columbia and am the scientific director of the Secondary Extraction Association.

My work explores how resource extraction, value chains and indigenous perspectives intersect with ethics and sustainability. Using ethnographic approaches ranging from Canadian diamond mines to European luxury markets, I analyse how companies, consumers and Indigenous communities can work together to create a more responsible future.

Group One West’s hybrid eco-resort and Climate Institute embodies the very synthesis of evidence-based innovation and cultural stewardship that my research seeks to advance. By embedding Indigenous governance in a living laboratory for carbon-negative energy, blue-carbon restoration, and circular-materials strategies, the project transforms scholarly insight into tangible climate action. I am confident that Group One West will set a new benchmark for regenerative tourism and ethical development, and I am proud to lend my full support to turning this bold vision into reality.
